⁴ He must manage his own household well and ensure that his children are submissive and respectful in every way. ⁵ For if someone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of the Church of God? ⁶ He should not be a recent convert so that he will not become conceited and incur the same condemnation as the devil.
